Open Your Eyes

“The mountains saw You and quaked;
The downpour of waters swept by.
The deep uttered forth its voice,
It lifted high its hands.
Sun and moon stood in their places;
They went away at the light of Your arrows,
At the radiance of Your gleaming spear”
(Habakkuk 3:10, 11).

It seems in all this marvelous creation that man is the only creature who defies the Creator. Both the great heights and depths acknowledge Him as do the sun and moon. As plain as the world is before the eyes of Him who made it is He who made it plain in the eyes of creation…except for man.

For with great energy and pride we willfully defy the Creator to the point that we deny His very existence. In spite of the majesty and power inherent in this vast and beautiful world we close our eyes and shut our ears in order to ignore the obvious. But God doesn’t go away when we close our eyes any more than the sun does.

Those who come to God must believe that He is. And the first step is to stop willfully ignoring Him.
